Art question! I need a clear sealing agent to put over paper/magazine/newspaper..?

I'm making small pieces of art that include putting a printed piece of paper onto a piece of wood. I need to stick the paper to the wood with something and also need something to ';paint'; over the top so the paper is waterproof - but it needs to be clear so you can see the image.





So I need two answers basically - what kind of glue is best and what can I use as a coating to seal the paper?

there is a type of clear glue and it may actually do both tricks, you might want to check it out. It's called ';Mod Podge';
