How long does it take for someone in the military to get his clearing papers after orders??

My husband put in for a curtailment about 2 months ago. He is getting his orders cut soon. NOW AT THIS TIME PAPER WORK IS AT 5TH QUAR.. well something like that. Those of you in the military know what im talking about.That paper work over at 5th quar shouldnt take so long. PLEASE those of you that REALLY know what they are talking about please let me know how long does this process take. My husband %26amp; I are very anxious to leave this place we both are in. Well its been several yrs since he got orders cut for him...we dont remember. I know that he can clear in a week or less thats no biggie. Thanks PPL for all your answer.

I assume you mean 5th Corps in Germany. When I left Germany, you could start clearing 10 business days (including training holidays) before your final out date. Your final out date is two days before your DEROS date, so you start clearing 12 days before your DEROS date. Tell him to make sure his TA-50 is clean.

Wow, good deal! I was in Ray Barracks Germany also. Overseas, once you get your orders you figure you got about a month til you get out. You can schedule an appointment with transportation and submit your terminal/PCS leave. Your clearing papers should arrive in about 2 weeks maybe 3. LOL Make sure you TA-50 is clean, most people get held back because of stupid CIF.
