My roomate covers our remote controls with clear plastic paper, why?? I don't want to offend by asking her...

to protect it from dust, dirt , if you can see the numbers clearly, her intentions are good.My roomate covers our remote controls with clear plastic paper, why?? I don't want to offend by asking her...
I don't know. That's weird. It shouldn't offend her if you ask. Maybe she wants to preserve the writing on the remotes so in 10 years it's not worn off. Who knows. Ask her.
If she would be offended by such a natural question, you might reconsider her being your roommate. You also need more healthy self-esteem in feeling you have the right to ask her because that's an unusual thing for one to do with a remote. Your only answer is to ask her immediately. Take an assertive training course so you can develop better self esteem.
my guess would be to stop the lettering on the remote becoming worn and unreadable as it is on most remotes in use for more than a few months. H
probably has a minor form of OCD (obsessive compulsive behavior)
she probaly is ocd, when you are ocd you have little quirks like that. Some only may have one quirk, others have more.
That's sweet that you don't want to offend her, but to get her answer, you need to ask your roomate.

=) Ask politely...I'm sure she will be more than happy to answer your question.
Give her a biography of Howard Hughes as a gift. See what happens.
To keep dust off of it
keeps them clean.
maybe it helps protect the remote so there is no germs on it.
Offer her a sip of your pop, or a bite of your apple, or ask if you can borrow a t-shirt, or ask her to go swimming in a public pool sometime, or things like that and keep track of her reactions. If she keeps saying no, Maybe she's got a fear of germs. There's a condition for that called Mysophobia, and can be treated with therapy.
There are some remotes that by the use you erase the numbers. Maybe that's why
its sweet of you to think of not offending her.

now to come on point you should be happy that you have such a clean and well organized room partner

clearly the reason for that ';plastic paer'; is that she doesnt want the remote to get touched by oily or dirty hands

becos think on the brighter side that by preventing the remote from not getting dirty or malfunctioning she is saving that would be repairing cost
Oh gross. I'd find out if she was using it as a sex toy before I started channel flipping.
Plastic Paper!!! when did they invent this, I want stock immediatly! this must be a an new upcoming trend!!!!
ok either your roomate has a problem with germs or a problem with the numbers getting rubbed off or does not want the remotes to get dirty, just like putting plastic on a couch either way i wouldnt even ask em cause they could do much worse ha ha
its prevent ur piece from dust n others
