Turn off the printer., If the paper has stuck while coming out then gently pull the paper, the paper will come out, there will be some noise as the paper is coming out.
Sometimes the paper gets stuck while its going in then pull the paper from the input tray, if it doesn't come out easily then u will have to open the printer then remove the toner, u will see a part of the paper, pull the paper from there,
In any case pull gently and evenly, or else the the paper will tear and small pieces of paper will be stuck in side which is a lot more difficult to clear.How do I clear paper jams at hp 1020?
open front cover
take out toner
remove paper jam
replace toner
